Irish Air Corps / most exotic air force aircraft to visit ireland?
« on: October 30, 2005, 01:14:46 pm »
What about the Sikorsky S92 that visited Bal and also made a trip to Sligo, that was pretty exotic considering ther were only a few flying at the time.

Also i remember about 4-5 yrs ago 2 ex Israeli A4 Skyhawks landing at Shannon on their way to America. Both did a really cool flypast along the length of the runway before landing.

Irish Air Corps / AIII/Dauphin Roundels and Lettering
« on: March 18, 2005, 07:54:48 am »
For anyone interested the Irish Air Corps Dauphin is finished and available for download at Hovercontrol

I have a 3ds model of an agusta 139 and also Alan devins who is a member of this forum has already built an Alloutte III in Gmax.

The s61N in the background is part of the scenery for Sligo Airport. Its is a very low poly model.

Cheers,
Jon

there has never been an ATC in finner as far as im aware infact im sure there never was as i remember an article in the donegal democrat in 2001 i think it was and col.ralph james of the air corps said there is no ATC and the helis have been flying for years only with radio contact with finner no radar or anything like there is in casement!so the cessnas could still land.

When it comes avaition dont believe anything you read in that paper, they once said that the S61 couldn't land at Sligo airport because it was to big.  '<img'>

There use to be air traffic control at Finner i use to hear them on the scanner all the time. Years ago I heard a RAF sea king passing over head coming back from a rescue chating to the guys in the tower.
