What a coincidence! Obama visiting Ireland in May!!
So no matter what I dare say there will be a carrier lurking off the Irish coast anyhow!

“Saxon Warrior will play out real-life scenarios, such as, purely just as an example, an air craft carrier off the coast of Anglesey releasing bombers heading to Pembrey.

I wouldn't read too much into it as yet. Nothing has been planned and as the above states "purely an example".
The world has changed dramatically since this was realised with talk of an NFZ over Libya and Japan devastated and on the brink of meltdown.
'Tethred Goat', the second exercise mentioned "took place" last week but there was no unusual or extra traffic in Wales??
You see the new policy of the MOD/RAF is to inform the public well in advance of any potential aerial activity other than the normal flow (trickle these days) of traffic through or above the Welsh MTA etc. This is due to the increasing number of flying complaints from mostly greedy farmers looking for compo and biggotted retirees who moved into the busiest military flying training areas and want it stopped. Despite the fact it's been goin on since WW2 and saved pilots and britains ass many a time in real combat (Dambusters Raid, eg.)
The native Welsh people are mostly immune to it and farmers I know say it doesn't disturb their stock.
The average payout to a farmer is £10,000 a year apparently, funny really, I would say underneath they don't want it stopped!!
So in essence what the MOD are doing is CTA (covering their arses).

Let's hope it does go ahead though as I would like nothing more than to have a Nimitz class carrier in the Irish Sea launching jets into my favourite playground !!!

According to Sky news, there were AC130 gun ships there for cover as well. Means the yanks were in on it as well if that is the case.

MC-130P Shadows routing through

I'm afraid these are two different models of Herc guys! The AC-130 is the gunship alrite but the MC-130 is the type equipped with radar and sensors for spec ops night time insertions. According to crews on PPRUNE, sky news are talkin bull.

The maritime fitout, or at least parts of it (as far as I'm aware) can be taken out and seats fitted instead.
None of the actual mission equipment is removed. The saros and photographers seats are removed as well as the flare launcher to give room to standard (small) airline seats, more of which are fitted along the port side of the cabin. The larger 'Club' seats(x4) in the crew rest area can also be replaced by an extra row of smaller seats making 6 instead of the standard 4.
The rear panel of the aft cabin, the equipment cabinet and the raft launcher are also removed to allow unhindered access via the ramp.

I doubt very much that photo section will give out images of what's still classed as a secure location. The photos  requested may be old and a present day low Rez image may be seen on Google but that's besides the point.
The layout of the camp may be known to the public but the Defence Forces are not gonna just hand out aerial photos of it  :police:

Aviation News / RAAF PC-9's grounded.

All operations of the RAAF's premier aerial display team, the Roulettes, have been suspended after the engine of a training plane caught fire this week.

With the Australian International Airshow at Avalon just three weeks away, Defence has halted all PC9/A flight operations following the mishap.

The ABC reported yesterday that the planes would be grounded until an investigation was completed into the fire, which hit the aircraft in Western Australia early this week.

Advertisement: Story continues below The ABC said the engine of a PC-9 training plane caught fire at RAAF Base Pearce, north of Perth, leading to the Air Force banning its pilots from flying the planes until the cause of the fire was known.

The Air Force was working with the engine manufacturer to establish what sparked the fire.

The Roulettes were set to be one of the attractions at Avalon, where the RAAF will also celebrate its 90th birthday.

However, the Defence Department last month put a stop to aerial displays at the Australian Grand Prix by the Roulettes and F/A-18 fighter jets. RAAF will instead send a balloon to the grand prix
(balloon ???)
