how the AC in 2012 is offering an army air corps role that is any much better then it was 65 years ago!
How's about transporting 12 fully armed troops in each AW-139 with fire support on each aircraft  ?

I'll be honest Frank and you know my views on this.
The needless posting of movements out of Bal should stop unless of course it's done as an actual log .
I mean of course you going to get, say a PC-9, orbiting the area, their based there.
And the "does anyone know what the 139 was doing.... etc etc" , can't be answered because A. Civvies won't know and B. serving personnel aren't really allowed say .

Anyhoo, I'll shut up now, I'm not getting embroiled with a forum war. Have seen this snowball on other forums to the point of people falling out (you know what forum I'm talking about Frank  :airforce_wink: )

Crap, I typed out a huge reply and deleted it by accident.
Anyhoo, Gnat, I agree with you on the constant reporting of movements.
I was referring to the forum being called the site . The website is fine as its heavily moderated, the forum is an annex to the site so maybe I was being too finicky.
What other forums have done is have a movements section that has strict rules as to what is posted and how but I think Frank would need a team of mods for this.
BTW: I'm not a spotter.  :airforce_cool:

Seems like this site is developing into a crappy, spotters forum

Your contradicting yourself there! This 'is' a forum ! The site is , WorldAirPics , you know, the bit where the photos of aircraft are? So what would you rather see on the "Forums"?
With regards to policing the forums , Frank can only do so much, while annoying at times, certain posts are still innocent and mean no malice etc.

Was G-PSNI down this way?

Wasn't into Bal anyhow. The black and yellow one I seen had come from N7/city west direction.
Maybe it was on the pad at Citywest Hotel?

I've come across this machine transiting to the rigs a few times (not too close thank god!)
On the point of 135's, a couple of months ago I'm full sure I saw a British Police 135 transiting north along the M50.
Maybe the aul Mk1 eyeballs playing tricks but 99% certain it was black with yellow also.

Any info?

I like it, it's different ! Hopefully they'll fly them at low level when the seasons over.
Not too far off the Tucs original training scheme .

Looks like the inevitable may happen soon!
Probably the "Iranian patrol boat fired on carrier" scenario will kick it off.....

This aircraft has been using Bal for years for missed approachs and touch and go's.
Must be the only one approved to do it ??
