In addition, the Heli Sqn and St. Brendans Badge were used as the Squadron Badges soon after the New flight suits were introduced as actual badges, However the future of both badges is in doubt now as the "Heli Sqn" is not really a unit and this badge will not be used for 3 Ops Wing. The 301 Sqn's Future as a SAR sqn is doubtful.

Guinness,

You mean you didn't buy one of the AIII prints from the Store??? This badge was on it. Tut Tut!

No Problem... not like I designed the original...

I did find that pic too... Looking at it now my Version isn't entirely accurate. ah well.

The First one was painted on the Left Side (Behind the Sliding door) of the AIII about 1970; (The HI Vis Orange AIII days) The same time as the RAF 22 Sqn Badge was on the right Hand side. its included in Joe Maxwells Decal set, and the Badge drawn on my site is courtesy of a photo Joe sent me a few years ago. Evidence for this is hard to come by, its rare to see photo's of it. I may see if I still have the photo, and upload it. (with Joe's Permission of course)

Actually the full size one is here...

What a great Day!! Sorry I couldn't make a weekend of it but there's always next year. Was a good display, Pity about the Traffic (Coming through Loughrea on the Way home was a nightmare 5 mile tailback!!) Plus the hangover from the night before didn't help!!

That Jag was on his way to America when he showed up the Second time!! at 200ft whhhhoooooossssshhhhhhhhh!! out of nowhere.

Same with the Black Hawk. Couldn't hear it start up but Suddenly there it was popping up from behind the hotel. Good stick control from the 4ft tall Pilot!!

Why the Caravan? For Carrying Cargo? It is and Ideal Para training Craft (I know.. I've Jumped out of a few) But I doubt they would buy it for that? Its not the Most Comfortable Passenger carrying Plane and while Poweful, Its Manouevrabilty isn't matched to Photo Recon? (For Combat anyway) the Marchetti is much Better.

Irish Air Corps / AC 'fleet' poster ?
« on: May 24, 2005, 03:54:33 pm »
Well Speaking as someone who knows from experience, The Posters would take time, and a hell of a lot of Effort. And I'm not sure of how much of a market there would be! In case you haven't noticed, apart from the members of this Board there is not a lot of interest in the Air Corps except for the Aviation Enthusiast?

Was also out when the Coast Guard S-61 Landed and was towed into the Hanger, See if there's any Pics of that too. (They'll all be blurred by Fence I think though)

Hey Guinness,

Got a new Job last Sept which requires a lot of computer work, The last thing I want to do is spend a lot of time using one when I get home, as it has caused me to go short-sighted in the space of six months, que a new Computer in work (with a decent monitor) and a Pair of Glasses. Unfortunately My Graphic Design Hobby has taken a Major Back Seat to other stuff.

For Prints Fans The Pilatus will be ready soon. (When I get around to it.

Rgds to all!
