If the gardai ended up returning the scanners then it probably was some one just over reacting at the scene.

I'd agree with sealion the gardai can hardly seize scanners if there sale and purchase is not illegal.  Smells like a bit of a power trip to me

I'm thinking of applying for a cadetship some time in the future and am wondering what sort of accomodation is given to newly commissioned officers?
