A Dauphin spent an lot of time hovering over Croker during both halfs of the Dublin v's Kerry game.

Were they moonlighting for the copper choppers, or just too tight to pay the 35 euros

Irish Air Corps / Neutraility?

Quote (sealion @ 12 June 2004,19:07)
Were we really neutral back then,or just incapable of taking part?
I mean,on D Day,weather reports were relayed to the allies from the west coast, which probably made Eisenhowers mind up whether to Go on june 6 or not.
The difference in treatment of prisoners is also notable.

Unfortunately, I think the government at the time did not do enough to help the allied war effort. I understand that we were a fledging nation etc, but we will never know how many merchant navy sea men’s lives would have been saved if we had of let the Americans ( it need not have been the British ) use our ports on the south and west coast. It is an ostrich mentally that still exist today… personal opinion you understand.

T'was on TV3 news this evening with Smithy giving it a right good send up. They had footage of the cockpit and the cabin.
It looked surprisingly small inside, certan TD's better lay off the mince pies this crimbo.

Irish Air Corps / Bertie admits Aircorps underequipped!

Not much of an expert if he doesn't understand the value of training. Does he expect the lads in the Air Corp to learn how to fly advanced aircraft from the users manual.

I for one think the PC-9m's were one of the better decisions the Air Corp has made in quite a while. Capable light strike air craft that are also a lead into higher performance air craft.

Rome wasn't built in a day you know, ......... although I hear that was the builders original estimate....

I'll get me coat...
