Hi,
Would anyone be able to list out photography locations for any of the following airports,
Shannon
Cork
Galway
Weston
Both for arrival and departure shots if possible and the best days to see arriving traffic.
Thanks

Hi DS
I've only been up to Carnmore a couple of times as there is'nt any public transport other than taxi's which can get expensive. Anyway most of the fencing around the car park area has now been all boarded up with the exception of a short length at the far end of the car park where you can get some goodish shots of take off and landings. The main problem here is that it is south facing and therefore the sun is in your face-thats if it appears of course! The cafe/ bar area would be OK if they cleaned the windows once in a while. If you come out of the airport and turn right and head up to Carnmore cross (the next junction) and then turn right again and about 150 metres down that road is a gate way where you can sit and it is almost bang on the approach to runway 26. There is a small road that passes the other end of the runway but I can't remember if it is the 2nd or 3rd turning from the airport entrance, maybe Fouga could give you more details there. I have found that on a Saturday there are about 4 or 5 departures and 4 or 5 arrivals between 11 and 3 but there are a good few club and helicopter flights as well. as for other days you may be better of going to the Galway airport website and you could check for the best day to suit yourself.
Hope this is of some help.

Shannon information here:

At Weston you can take photos in the area of the new terminal-cum-restaurant without too much difficulty. A ladder would help if you want to get photos over the fence. As it is a GA field there is activity most of the time, but of course no scheduled movements.
