Air Corps Marchettis article in Flying In Ireland
« on: October 13, 2008, 11:12:28 am »
Anybody interested in the Air Corps Marchettis will find an excellent article in the current edition (October)of Flying In Ireland. The article is the work of Mick Bevan who sweated blood, guts and the enjoyment of working and flying in them. Also a practical way to support the magazine. Good one Mick and looking forward to another in the same vein.

Hey there GTTC. Just read the article. Quite good and brought back some good memories. Just a couple of little inaccuracies. Thanks for the mention by the way.

It was nice to see a Marchetti in action in the new James Bond Movie, albeit a turboprob version,
what might have been...... Did the TP verison ever visit Bal over the years ?

My own view has always been that the Marchettis should have been retained for basic flight training purposes with the PC-9Ms used for advanced training and limited defencise purposes.
