Anyone else spot the error with the report and picture of the "new" EC135 at Garda HQ today on the RTÉ One O'Clock News?

Ah ha! I've just watched the web clip (missed the start on the TV) and both 135's were present, from what I'd seen only 256 was visable .... :fryingpan: :duh:

Any pics available of the two of them together. Will the 3rd remain operational or is it planned to sell it?

They should strip all Garda operational equipment from the AS-355 and transfer it over to MATS, this would mean none of the EC135's or AW139's are used for ferryingany of the Bertie Party around Ireland.

That is of course they are planning to keep it.

I was going to argue against that idea, but when I thought of it, If the Gardai drive bertie and co about when they are on the ground, why shouldn't they do it in the air too? The 355 is quite comfy also.

they are selling it. Using it by Mats would be way to sensible. Besides they'd still have to use the AW 139 to winch The Minister for Health.

Would it really be wise to keep in service a single example of a type whose capabilities are in the same general league as the EC135?  The Air Corps already has enough singletons, surely, with the MATS fleet and the Defender amounting to four separate types.  I'd have thought that this is relatively inefficient from a maintenance and operational point of view - but then the Air Corps doesn't have to turn a profit!
