Red Arrows Mishap!
Red Arrows jet in runway accident

The Ministry of Defence has launched an investigation after an RAF's Red Arrows plane overshot a runway as it came into land.

The incident happened at around 1.15pm in Jersey, the MoD said. Neither the pilot nor co-pilot was injured.

The Red Arrows, based at RAF Scampton, Lincs, were arriving in the Channel Islands to take part in aerobatics displays in Jersey and Guernsey on Thursday.

An MoD spokesman said: "One of the aircraft left the runway at Jersey airport this afternoon as it came into land.

"This was a minor incident. We will be investigating to see what the problem was.

"The aircraft was coming into Jersey in order to undertake displays in the area this week."

Yeh! But did you see what happened when they tried to tow it back onto the runway? The shear pin in the towbar went and the A/C ended up tipping back onto its arse leaving its nose and the unfortunate techie in the cockpit pointing skywards!!! I've seen many a sheer pin go on the Fougas, but nothin as laughable as that happen!!
Although there was the time when  poor aul "ski" nearly got runover by a runnaway fouga!!
Hope hes doin well as his wife passed away recently and my condolences go out to him!!
