Hi Silver,

I've been really busy over the last few weeks / months and I've kind of put them on the back burner but now that you've reminder I'll try and make some enquiries over the next few days and get back to you then.

I wasn't too impressed with the service or the quality in the place where I got the first badge made, it took 6 weeks of phone calls to get one badge so I'll try and find another source.

Is there anyone else out there who would like a copy of the IrishAirPics.com badge?  I would need to have a rough idea of how many badges to get.

This is what the one and only existing IrishAirPics.com badge looks like, it shows Fouga 220, the last Fouga Magister in service with the Air Corps.

Regards,

Frank.

Is it something or does Fouga 220 have a special place in all our hearts? Im being serious its a widely used ac in terms of photo's or is it because it was the leader of the SS.

Something about it really does capture me. '<img'>

Please explain......  I've been living under a rock for the last few weeks.

If I get the time I'll see if I can put together a logo with a heli just for you.

Hi Frank,

Have you considered contacting Flight Sergeant Jim Perkins over on irishmilitaryinsignia.com (or is it .ie?) ?
He would know of a good supplier.

I too would also like an Alouette patch.

Cheers,
Silver.

N.B. - There is a place called "Silver Stich" (no connection to me !) in Greenhills, Dublin 24 who make patches - might be worth a call.
There is also a place in the UK that specialises in patches - can't recall the name just now though...........

I was Referring to my return flight from Ibiza on Holidays Frank...

In IBZ After Taxiing to the Runway, we had to return to the Terminal  after a Passenger was considered too drunk to travel. It took an hour to unload his and his wife's baggage. Then over France we hit a thunderstorm. In DUB all the emergency services were on standbywhen we landed, went all the way to the end of the runway then just stopped. After about 20 mins the pilot came on to "keep us updated" The Nose Landing gear hadn't extended fully and the aircraft landed with it like that. but now couldn't be steered to the terminal and after another 30 minutes a Tug came out to tow us to the Terminal. Then 1 passenger Punched another and the Aircraft wasn't opened until the Gardai showed up. It took an hour for our baggage to get unloaded!! a 2 1/2 hour flight took almost 6 hours. Not really a disaster but I was 3 hours late getting home!!

I would do the Alo design myself but I'm so busy at the moment it's unreal.

Hi Bailer,

That's a bad ending to what I presume was an otherwise very good holiday!!!

I'll do up the Alo badge when I get a chance, I'm up the walls at the mo, I'm adding more features to IrishAirPics.com as I learn PHP / MySQL, I want to make the site more automated, secure (including hiding email addresses) & user friendly so that takes up most of my limited pc time.

I hope to speed up the load time of the Air Corps & Helicopter sections, I'm going to complete the transfer of all the pictures to the database first, get that tidied up, then I'll work on the speed up, I can only work on one thing at a time!
