Supportable fleets

Someone posted and article on the USNs plan to retire it's HH-60G Fleet in the next few years and suggested that the H-60 might be an option, in response someone else suggested that since a H-60 costs approximately half of what a H-92 would do the H-60 series would make much more sense.
I argued to the contrary that apart from performance issues operating a larger number of the smaller M/L helicopter would not be possible within the current force structures.
I'd just like to ask the IAC types around here was I right?

there h-60 is not idealy suited to the SAR mission as its range is not ideal the USCG send a C-130 full of fuel out with on long missions and the USN use it as rescue chopper for when there pilot go in the water near the ship. so no the H-60 is not a good choice for the corps

Imshi , if by force structure do you mean tech. support , if so then I would have to agree. There are definitely not enough bods on the ground. But cos of proffesional pride the guys do more and more with less and less, soon they'll be able to do everything with nothing. Seriously though its El Capo's plan that the 2nd line and deeper servicing go out to civie contract.
