Cessna Replacement?

Yesterday i saw the Garda defender overfly Letterkenny and i thought about the c172 and how the defender was been considered as a replacement for the cessna.has anyone heard the latest on this?Are replacements still far away or are they on the horizon?and the helis also i havent heard anything about them now for some time?

My choice would be the Cessna Caravan. There has been talk around the place about these a/c being the best choice. They would be a nice addition to our fleet.

my .02c
Hang onto the C172. A bit underpowered with four on board, but a really reliable aircraft thats very cheap to run. Turbine equipped caravans have more complex engine management (no FADEC remember).

well tash first off welcome,
second engine management in the caravan is just as easy as in a 182. the checklist is even shorter in he caravan than the 182.

I stand corrected. In my limited FRA-150L flying experience I thought that the turbine mgt in the Caravan looked a tad more complicated then flying pistons.
