Hi. Firstly I'd like to compliment Frank on his board, very professional. Does wonders for the Air Corps, and puts Military.ie to shame. Keep up the good work! I'm compelled to write after bothering to look up Abbeyshrule Direct Action. Is this some big joke? Does anybody know this Sean Walshe? And whats Abbeyshrules view on this? '<img'>

Watcher,

welcome to the forum first of all.
I've been surfing the net for a few odd years but a site like Abbeyshrules I've never come across before.
These guy's are full of c**p and haven't got the slightest idea what they are talking about.
Before you know they'll mention that F-117's and B-2 bombers where opperatng out of EIAB during the gulfwar '<img'>

Let's keep it to our own great site as Frank has put more efford in it like these other clowns.

They are just people who are brainwashing others to believe their own nonsense.

Following all this controversy I went for a drive down to check out the scene in Abbeyshrule.  When I got there I first of all checked out the airport. It was heavily guarded by our troops and a fully loaded Marchetti and an AIII were in constant patrol.  I counnted 4 B-52s and 12 F16s parked on the Apron.  I then decided to check out the local town and found it hopping. Off duty USAF packed the local shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and some of whom only accepted US dollars.  A local shop keeper told me that they never had it so good and that on a regular basis the airport's duty free shop ran out of goods!!..........But then I woke up from my dream....or as the Shannon crusties would have me believe ...from my nightmare!  I was still in my cosy Dublin bed!
Now folks was this just a dream, a nightmare or just wishfull thinking?

I get a bit upset the way Abbeyshrule is bandied about on this board( hold on, hold on ! ) I have great memories of airshows in the last century! A nice easy going attitude without compromising safety and great facilities for taking photographs. But most of all, Abbeyshrule was put on the aviation map by the late and great Sammy Bruton. For you young fellas Sammy was ex Air Corps. So don't let anyone hijack the name and the memory of Sammy. There, thats my tuppence halfpenny worth( really, really old money, again for you young fellas)
