blackhawks work out at bout $15.7million apiece thats with GAU-19 0.50calibre mini-guns,GAU-17 7.62mm mini-guns m265 2.75inch rocket pods.this sounds lik a quite worthy machine.take away the weapons to reduce cost by about $3mil apiece.but they could really support the army with this fit.you would have a gunship and transport in one.make the most of what you have.does anybody know the amount of funding avaible for any new choppers?and also where are the papers getting the story about the blackhawks from? You must be thinking of the wrong Blackhawk.. We are on about the Utility Heli, not the failed/cancelled Apache replacement.

Second Hand Blackhawks seem to be averaging out at around $8m each with no armaments. 10 for $80 is a nice round figure.

So the Blackhawks have been mentioned in two or three different newspaper stories, so it must have a little bit of truth in it. If we go the Tender route, that rules out s/h Blackhawks from singapore, Japan where ever. So go for tender for 6 LUH. Which means EC135, Size craft, which great for training, a little armaments the Emergency Island relief etc.
But not for what the Army wanted, troop transport and Army/Air Corp joint operations and overseas ops.
So does mean, we get 6 LUH plus 6 MLH helicopters, or 6 LUH, keep the Gazelle and 2 Dauphins and one or A111's while retiring the others.

Well since you've done your research please enlighten me as to what the difference between an AH-60L and a UH-60L is?
Other than the use of all the hardpoints?

The AH-60 is NOT an used name in the USAR.

To my opinion Pilatus is right on this one.
The U stands for utility and/or multirole.
