Need help with IAC Hurricane

Hello everybody.
I am currently working on an aviation print to go with the Spitfire print and am beginning research on the history of the Irish Air Corps Hurricane IIc's.

I have found two sources that quote the IAC serial numbers and the RAF serials, but the RAF serials differ quite a bit from each source.

Can anybody supply me with the correct RAF serials as I would like to check out the service record of each airframe prior to it's time with the IAC. I also need some information on the aircraft during and after their service with the IAC.

I haven't yet chosen which IIc to depict, but am thinking of 115 as it had the red spinner.  (why? was it the squadron leaders airframe? )

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it would greatly enhance the accuracy of this project.

Next up will be either the Seafire, the Gladiator or the Marchetti.

Reply either through the board or by e-mail: yeehah1@eircom.net

Does no one know this information?
Come people, some one knows and is keeping mum on the subject. The accuracy of hte print and the information contained on it is dependant upon your help.

And I know that there is at least one person on this board who has the answer.

If I cannot verify the information I'll have to go with what I have.

Hey Liam, according to Wings over Ireland by Donal McCarron the Mk11 Hurricanes were:
s/n 94    ex RAF Z2832
     95              Z5070  (both Mk11b's)

     115             LF536
     116             LF541
     117             LF566
     118             LF624
     119             LF770
     120             PZ796 (all Mk11c's)

I hope this helps, although we really need Tony Kearns to look in as he will know for sure, there are more than one or two errors in an otherwise very good book!.

Hey John.
I have Donal Mac Carron's book and am wary of taking his information as golden. However, SAM Publications Modeler's Datafile on the Hawker Hurricane has a quite extensive list of Hurricane serials in the back and it has listed 3 of the IIc 's ( strangely, no mention of hte other 3).
These numbers correspond with Donal MacCarron's figures.
A third source has also confirmed them.

However..... I agree. Tony Kearns would have the definitive knowledge on this matter.
