There is a chance that if you joined as a recruit you may find yourself in a better position than other recruits to apply for aircrew positions such as helicopter crew or casa crew, but they generally take applicants for these positions from the general defence forces, rather than specifically from the Air Corps. You may well find yourself being trained as a cook, military policeman, photographer, driver, clerk or other non air related job, but still be a part of the Air Corps. Once you are in one of these areas, it's more difficult to be released to undergo air training.
