Even though the Colour does seem "Garish" The Aircraft does look newer than our Marchetti's with the Plain green body.

The Belgian Air Force Marchetti fleet has completed a total of 250,000 flying hours !
To celebrate the occasion, a Marchetti was given this special livery -
They purchased 36 Marchetti SF260M's in 1970, of which 24 are still in service. Nine SF260D's were obtained as attrition replacments in 1992.
Their marchetti's were also the mount of 'The Swallows' aerobatic team from 1973-1981 and again between 1995-1997.
I wonder how many hours our Marchetti's have completed ??

I don't believe it, me and FF actually agreeing on something !?! - well kinda
:'>
Yes, FF the livery is a bit garish alright.
However, it is a "once-off special edition" so to speak - to commemorate the event.
I believe the rest of the Belgian Marchetti fleet is yellow with multi-coloured go-faster stripes down each side.
..........hold on..........that sounds even worse

Silver,
I am a great believer in speaking from the hip and every one having a right to free sppech. Sometimes therefore I might annoy you and other times we might agree but damn it I will support you to the death to have the right to free spech even if I dont agree with your views! Anyway I am sure there are some things we will always agree on.....especially our love of the IAC and the Defence Forces generally and hopefully a love of our country!

The special colour scheme actually uses Belgium's national colours. It isn't unlike their current yellow scheme. The penguin has been on all the SF260 airframes since the day they were bought and in their camouflaged days.
