There was a picture of all the Aircorps official and un-official patches in the book "A view from the tower" many moons ago. Thing is that since the new establishment within the Aircorps came into play most of these patches have become obselete due to the joining together and renaming of various squadrons. I dont think a squadron flash or unit flash has been seen since the introduction of the blue uniform and to make things worse there are no patches other than the Aircorps flash and the leather name tag/wings allowed on the new green flying suits. I think its something to do with approval of the patches to a cetain safety standard, i.e are they flame retardant. I may be wrong but thats the word going around, maybe someone can elaborate on this. In my view, it doesnt matter if your unit flash is fireproof or not, I dont think its going to save you if you "crash and burn" (God forbid!!)
