About an hour ago a flight of 172's in Diamond formation and VERY low flew right over my head, impressively tight despite the blustery conditions, it was a nice surprise.
Gawking around the internet, a few interesting articles,
Austrians Hiring F-5E's:
http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_481.shtml
Basically 12 for €14m a year, not gonna ever happen here - but I bring it up because hiring F-5E's from the Swiss was discussed here a few years ago

I was outside my house yesterday as the Dublin s-61 flew low(and slow ) over my house so I gave them a thumbs up. They then proceeded to circle my house with the winchman leaning out the door waving manically at me and taking a few photos. They then did a low and fast pass over the house, absolutly brialliant.

Lucky bugger well done FP! They are great lads all the same, i took quite a few snaps of the EINN based one a month ago when she landed in UCHG and i gave them a wave and thumbs up just as they departed and i can say i believe they did what can only be described as a "Military" style take off, straight up and then at height dropped the nose and fell down gaining speed and away they went!
