Hi Guys,

4 air to air pictures of Beech 200 "240" and PC-9 "267" have been added to the database (2 of each aircraft type).  The Beech 200 is shown in it's new paint scheme which is similar to that applied to the Learjet.

Great shots Frank.  240 looks lovely in the new paint.  Who did the work?  Guess this means there is no B200 repalcement on the horizon, though 240 must be nearing the end of airframe life.

Is there a finite airframe life for the Beech 200, assuming any required AD are carried out?

Yes there is.  I can't quote the number of hours and other criteria off-hand, but we recently had to retire a B200 from an organization I worked for because it ran out of useful airframe life due to fatigue based on hours.  Structural fatigue can be corrected, but is not economical on something like a B200 - would cost more than obtaining a replacement low-time aircraft on the market, which is what we did - a lovely, nearly new B350 in excellent condition obtained through a broker.  

In this case, I can only assume 240 does not have a large number of hours despite its age and therefore the IAC determined that keeping it on was more sensible than a replcement.  

Has it received an avionics upgrade along with the new paint?  I'm surprised the IAC did not go for any of the Raisbeck mods recently demonstrated at Baldonnel, such as strakes and props, that would improve fuel efficiency.

Great pics Frank for your site. One has to say the 200 is a real beautie. Will be sadly mised when eventually goes.  Always reminds me of the late 70's when we used Beechcraft for Fishery Protection - a whole new development in the Air Corps role at that time!

Hi all
I prefer the old scheme myself.This "wavy" scheme is just the latest fashion in painting executive jets.Cessna do something just like it as standard.Score no points for imagination,if nothing else.
