Bray Air Show 2005
« on: August 22, 2005, 10:30:32 pm »
Hi Guys,

First off I'd like to say well done to the guys who organised the Bray Air Show and thank you for your help and hospitality, it's much appreciated.

Now I know all you die hard air show fans out there will probably complain about the slight delays between displays and the lack of fast jets but for a first time air show that had bad luck with the weather I though it was a good show.

I thought the Dutch PC-7 put on a good show as did the Aerostars, the heavy Air Corps turnout was great too.

However, the star of the show for me and probably a lot of other people too was Spitfire 161, it looked and sounded lovely and it was great to see back in Irish skies.

I've had a chance to edit just a few pictures, a selection of which you'll find below (These were taken on Saturday, the practise day by the way):

Hi Guys,

Here are some more pictures from the Bray Air Show, apologies for the quality of some of the shots, the light was desperate and my equipment was at it's limits.

The pics of the Air Corps helicopters are a bit special, it's probably one of the last times a formation of these aircraft types will fly in Irish skies.

Larger versions of these images and others from Bray can be found by clicking here.

fantastic pics Frank, this is not not nit picking but confusion, why did'nt the air corps put on a helicopter display in Galway? to far to travel? the only time I have seen two air corp helicopters together was parked beside each other in Salthill park. When I would have loved to have seen them on the air especially the Dauphin and the Gazelle.

Hi clan,

To be honest I don't know why the Air Corps didn't put on a heli display in Salthill but did in Bray, at a guess I'd say it was because Baldonnel is so close to Bray.

Cheers Frank, I also thought that might be the reason. There presence does dispel the old, depending on operational requirements excuse.

Just like to say cheers Frank, amazing photos. Was out of the country for both the Salthill and Bray Airshows which was dissapointing but the photos are fantastic.
