Gazelle back on the market?

Word has it that the sale of the Gazelle has fallen through so she could be back on the market!
Also has anybody heard about the 260s? Last I heard the Dept had sold them without Aerrmachis approval and it was causing problems. Have they moved yet?

Why would (does?) the DoD need Aermacchis 'permission' to sell the 260's?

Hi Silver,
I believe it pre dates the original purchase and contains a clause to avoid the market being swamped by surplus airframes ala the hueys after Vietnam, although to a much lesser extent. Just the companies way of protecting its future sales.
This of course could just be a rumour but those airframes have had a buyer for a long time and have gone nowhere.
