Aptitude tests?
« on: April 27, 2003, 04:52:59 pm »
I was wondering if anybody on the board had any advice they could give me about the aptitude tests for the air corps.I have mine on Tuesday and the practice tets on the military.ie website are for the army and navy only.
I know you're not supposed to be able to study for these tests but some advice from people who have done them in the past perhaps would be much appreciated.any advice at all, send me PM even!
Thanks,
Lude

Marine,
Well I haven't joined just yet,I have to get past the final interview yet(that's if I even passed the aptitude tests!)
I'm going to keep trying until I do get in though.
Thanks for the encouragement Marine,I say again,THE happiest person on this board!

I personally think its a disgrace that their is no practice books in the stores, I am surprised that the Aircorps does not publish books on how to prepare for these tests.  The fact of the matter is yes you can practice taking them, but not study for them.  Well I wish you luck on the test, but if things dont go well, dont get frustrated, try and see if you can retake it again. I dont know how the Aircorps works in a situation like this happens, I mean in reference to your test. I hope some one knows and answers your question.

This is one situation that needs to be fixed. ''

Are you sure they are different?
Just ring DFHQ and ask, it won't be a problem...besides the DF claim that no one is failed on the basis of their Aptitude tests

I had my aptitude tests today, they went well(at least I think they did!!).Quite challenging, not really what I expected but they were fair considering they gave no prior examples on the military.ie website!
Also got a talk  from a flight instructor,he outlined the basic stuff and went into detail about the training syllabus.Very challenging indeed. There are to be 2 of the new pilatus PC-9's delivered next March,as if the warrior wasn't hard enough to master!(so he said!)
He also gave some promising pointers to the future and talked about how defence would become a priority in the future and that the pilatus aircraft were a large stepping stone etc.
Anyway that was that!
