Spotting trip to Belgium / Holland
« on: December 30, 2003, 09:06:40 pm »
To all,

I'm willing to plan a trip for about 3 day's to visit the RNLAF and the BAF.
Before I start planning I just want to check how many of you would be interested.

The airbases to be visited are: Gilze-Rijen ( AH-64D), Volkel ( 3 sqns of F-16's), Soesterberg ( A III, AS-532U2, CH-47D) + RNLAF museum, Eindhoven ( C-130, KDC-10, Fokker 50/60, Gulfstream IV).

If we want we also can skip the border to Belgium to: Brasschaat ( A-II !!!!!!, BN-2, A-109H) and Kleine-Brogel ( 3 sqns of F-16MLU).

There's nothing certain yet but all these bases CAN be visited.

I just want to check if it's worth to get the train goin'.

I hope te get it done around may 2004

Hi Guinness,

I would love to do a trip like that.

I have a few things on next year but I should have a better idea of times and dates by the end of January and I'll get back to you then.

I'm just after getting some new camera equipment and I'm itching to try it out!

Regards,

Frank.

':p' FF,

let's make a deal.
You'll fly Dublin-Amsterdam via Naples and Rome while the rest of the group can fly direct to Ams.

All parties are happy !!!! '<img'>

Great idea Guiness. I would also like to include Italian and USAF bases in Bella Italia if it could be organised!

FF,

for your info: there's NO (!!!) border between The Netherlands and Italy !!!
The bases on my list are max. 2 hours drive from Gilze-Rijen.

Aviano ( Italy) is about 14 hours (!!!)
I don't know if you have been watching the news the last 10 years but visiting USAF installations in Europe is not a clever thing to do ( unless you want to have X-mas 2004 in a US prison) ':p'

Let's keep it to The Netherlands and Belgium, OK?
