hi lads hope every one haven a great christmas..... just came across this on the irish air corps facebook page there  irish air corps casa aircrafth completed an air ambulance missinon to londan this morning here s the statment from the iac...



Statement - 26th December 10.00am.
 
Air Corps complete 2nd Air Ambulance mission over Christmas period
 
The Air Corps completed its second Air Ambulance mission over the Christmas period this morning.
 
A patient was transported by the Air Corps from Baldonnel to Heathrow this morning for onward transfer to a London hospital.
 
The CASA departed Casement Aerodrome at 07.30 am and landed in Heathrow at 09.00 am where the patient continued their journey by ambulance.
 
On Christmas Eve night an Air Corps AW139 helicopter conducted an Air Ambulance mission between Dublin and Cork using specialist Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
 
The Air Corps have completed 70 Air Ambulance missions to date in 2011.
 
Notes to Editors:
 
The Air Corps have fixed wing and rotary wing crews on standby for emergency air ambulances 365 day a year - today's crew were on standby since 09.00 am on Christmas Day.
 
Air Corps pilots are the only pilots in the state with the capability to fly using NVG.
