SA365F help please

Hey Guys:
Just a question...amongst other things, I build models of airplanes etc. Good reference for artwork and so on.
I just bought the Trumpeter 1/48 Dauphin2 365N with a view to making it up as an Air Corps 365F.

My question is, what are the differences between the two types?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hey i make model planes to!we probably all do.the difference between the 365n and 365f is the n is a civilian version while the f is a version tailored for use in the maritime area sar, naval co-op.but looking at them the only real difference's are the radar housing is longer and more pointy on the f than it is on the n and under the fuselage on the n the wheels retract right in to the chopper and are covered over completly while on the f they retract but not have a housingcovering them from the bottom.also under the fuselage there are a series of antennas and different landing lights on the f.you will find plenty of pics on the gallery on this site of both the f and the n versions. :)oh yeah almost forgot about the winch!

There are only two winch kits for IAC Dauphins. You could accurately model it with or without.

Thanks for the replies guys. I haven't really investigated this yet, got a cold and am going to bed. But the Trumpeter kit seems to include the winch gear, and Scale Aviation Monthly ran an ad this month for Eduard photoetch stuff for the HH-65A Dolphin, which I have been assured, is practically the same aircraft.
Would those photos include any of the interior rear deck?

USCG dauphin is not practically the same as ours, the radome is shorter, they winch from the door behind the pilot not like ours which is the rear one, our tailboom is a tad longer, different engines and intake fit, different hoist etc. the wheels retract in fully the same as the N but the u/c doors are not fitted to save weight. odd i know considering they are composite and hardly weigh a thing, but when you fill the boot with avionics every little bit helps..Iac only fits one hoist type to the F and on a good day there is one for each a/c.the a/c is rigged as if the hoist is permanently fitted. ie. ofset a little to the left due to the fact the hoist is so far of the a/c centerline stuck out on the arm as it is.

MatRotor:Thanks for the valuable inforamtion. I think what my mate meant ws that the photoetched detailing set for the HH-65A might be okay to use in the 365F. The Trumpeter kit is ok, but a bit bare in detail, especially in the rear compartments and I was hoping to find information/photos of what the interior behind the pilots looked like so to know what to look for or scratchbuild.

The kit does provide the winch housing, which is good.
Again, thanks a lot for setting the record straight!!

The back of the heli is kept as empty as possible for sar, no loose articles flying about. just a troop type seat behind the right hand pilot and possibly a mat on the floor. all the gear is in the boot and anything that is needed is brought into the cabin depending on the job at hand. ie stretcher for injured fisherman etc.
