Sneak peek at Spitfire T9 artwork

Hey guys.
This is a sneak peek at the artwork for the proposed squadron print depicting T9 162 in overall silver/natural metal finish with the flat black anti-glare panel. It should be noted that the study is based upon a number of scale drawings and photograps and that there should be a touch more detail in the finished product.

Thisis a  tonal study, used prior to the addition of color, just to make sure the balances are correct. If any changes are needed, now's the time. Bear in mind, there's no guareentee theat the finished product will look good, it may end up black/white!! '<img'>

You'll note that there is no stencilling beneath either canopy. As I couldn't find any decription of the style of the stencilling used, I've decided not to use any. Surprisingly, there is evidence that not all the Spits   had stencilling. Sorry.

So, what do you think? Does it look ok?

I don't see why not. Buyer pays postage, but then, that's normal, yes? I don't think we've worked out how to handle payments etc yet, but we'll let you know when the prints are ready.

Thanks for the kind words. I am not a very good technical artist, like Bailer ( who is doing the Dauphin and the Alouette), so this isn't going to be a piece of work to make the rivet-counters happy.
Again, thanks forthe kind words.

I have a habit of smudging pictures like that Yeehah!!

Thats why I use rulers, protractors and set squares '<img'>

It's looking good is that the base hand drawing or the actual computerised artwork??

Hey Bailer.
This is the hand-drawn part. The computer end is next, I'm just girding my loins as, as they used to say at the beginning of "Stingray", anything can happen in the next half hour!"

Well, this is where it gets interesting.
Will post an update as I get closer to the finished artwork.
How are you getting on?
Liam

Might I suggest that some information be included with these squadron prints.

For example, a "commemorative" print of Fouga 220 could include -
'IRISH AIR CORPS" at the top with,
'Fouga Super Magister CM170R '220' below that,
followed with '1975-1999' below that

- and some general info on the numbers of Fougas that were in use, Silver Swallows info and perhaps a small shot of the Fouga in action at the Baldonnel Family Day 1995 (i.e. Fouga 'attack' photo) included also below the print picture.

Regards,
Silver.
