I see in one of the Newspapers that The Coastguard is doing a major anti Pollution exercise off the coast...it now seems obvious to me that these aircraft are taking part.

I remember back in the early 90s while working at sea of fthe French coast,being warned to look skyward before throwing ANYTHING overboard, as these aircraft were quite active in their persecution of the polluter,no mater how serious the polluting.

Do the Air Corps currently carry out anti pollution patrols or is this another task that we are unable to do?

They do as far as im aware isnt that one of the Casa's jobs although it may be the Navy's task.

Shipping Action The Irish Coast Guard is hosting a co-ordinated Extended Pollution Control Operation(CEPCO) this week on the shipping lanes on the east and south coast of Ireland.  The Operation, under the terms of the Bonn Agreement, Involves aircraft and crew from Norway,Sweden,Netherlands, UK and France while Finland and Denmark have sent observers.  The aims of the operation are to enhance the enforcement of discharge provisions at sea and to increase the deterrence effect of aerial surveillance

Cant f16's land at EIME? have the AC 75th Anniversary Vid at home and the commentator says it had (RNLAF) to land at EIDW..Runways too small at EIME

F-16'S can land at EIME/BAL. Their min is around 3,000ft and Bal's main runway is under 6k. Might have to slap on the brakes in our weather though.
