sealion,
Did you see the 1993 heli magazine, or the 1997 magazine ?

There is plently of topics to cover - especially if it is only printed once-a-year.

Imshi,
"off island capabilities" - I agree totally, hence my green helis/transport comments above.

Most of my suggestions above would cost 'peanuts' to implement, and to go hand-in-hand with fleet renewal - that goes without saying, or so I thought !

Regards,
Silver.

N.B. - I'm abroad at present, any body know if it is possible to hear (or read) Pat Kennys discussion ?

I have copies of both.

And my point stands. Current operations would not fill a publication the size of either, without going over the same ground. Each of those you mention covered the History of operations. Would you pay to hear again about fitzys flight in the bremen,or the films that were made using Air Corps crew?
Do you want to read again articles that have appeared in An Cosantoir during the year about the Air Corps?

Personally I would only buy something if it tells me something new. If I was to buy such a publication(if it were printed) this year, would I go and buy the same publication next year if last years publication had the very same details and was available for free at every recruiting stand?

I digress. While the idea behind such a publication is a sound one,to produce something like this costs time and money. The current book (Irish Air Corps celebrates 100 years of flight) does the same job,for €20 a pop.

Seeing as the A111 is being retired and Salthill is the only airshow, why not put on a display with as many of the aircraft as possible. In the early eighties, either the Swiss or the French has an A111 display team called the grasshoppers.

A good way to bow out.
