Just flew over North Galway a Gazelle in Camoflage colours. Could not see any markings on it. Have the Air Corp repainted the Gazelle?

Who ever owned it, it looked fantastic, Another one in the same general area today but could not see it but could hear it from miles away, certainly very big S61 size judging by the noise of it. Before anyone says anything it was LOUD, not the small twin engined jobs I am used to hearing.

I was woken up this morning very early(about 10.30 '<img'> ) by the coast guard heli which decided to fly circles around my house for a while. I know the minimum height for a heli over housing is meant to be 500ft but this heli was low, and I mean low, the window in my room was shaking.I`d have been annoyed but it was such a cool thing to watch,I`m hoping they wake me up tomorrow.

Do they hand out details of aircraft movements especially military aircraft to just any body?

Maybe it's being used in a film?

That could well be it. The Gazelles have been used before in films as British helicopters. One of the Casa`s was also used(as a c-130 in In The Name Of The Father).

This was probably Agusta 109 EI-DLP.  It has olive green/grey stiping overall.
Have a look at the photo of it on:-
