New Instrument Landing System at Baldonnel

The Minister for Defence, Mr. Willie O’Dea, T.D., is pleased to announce that a contract has been placed for the provision of a new Instrument Landing System at Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, Co. Dublin.
The project involves:
· The design, supply and installation of the Instrument Landing System complete with antennae;
· The supply and installation of ducting and cabling;
· The completion, testing and commissioning of the system in order to obtain certification to International standards;
· Training of staff on the system.
Minister O’Dea stated: "I am pleased with the placing of this contract as I believe the Air Corps are deserving of the most modern equipment available and this project will further enhance the facilities at Casement Aerodrome."
The main contract has been placed with Park Air Systems from Oslo. The Civil Contractors involved in the project are Cafferkey Developments Ltd from Maynooth, and the Consultants are T. J. O’Connor and Associates from Dublin.
The total overall value of the contract is €1.15m and the project will be completed within seven months.
