Website Downtime

Hi Guys,

As you know IrishAirPics.com was down for a few days recently due to issues with the message board.

Basically from what I can figure out someone tried to flood the server with requests via my message board and before the server crashed the server admins disabled the site.

I have now implemented some security patches, improved the boards security and updated the message & member database.

Basically what this means is that the board is now more secure from further attacks and therefore better protected against full website shut down.

If this happens in the future people trying to flood the system will be banned, their ip's blocked and the message board will shut itself down if it starts to overload the server.

Thanks for all your help and patience Frank. I for one certainly missed the site yesterday.  Perhaps you should just ban the bas***d straight away! Unless of course it was by an accident ie virus etc.

Glad you missed the site!

I've no idea who or what caused the trouble over the weekend but the patches I implemented today will ban potential troublemakers automatically.
