Why Bray?

I cant for the life of me understand why they dont hold the Air Spectacular every year like they used to, great PR for the Air Corps.  '<img'>

Its good to see that Salthill wont be the only full airshow in the Republic.. It would be great if the Air Spectacular was on every year (The last one rocked!!!)

Seeing as Bray is closer to britain than Galway, there might be more participation from the RAF and other European countries..

Matt,

Salthill is only 130 miles away from Dublin / Bray, for modern military aircraft this is only a few minutes added to their flight times, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference how far Salthill is from Dublin with regards to aircraft participation.

you tell him frank! Like come on distance is nothing it's like the time we had the B1 which flew all the way from the US and refuelled in Portugal then did it's passes and went back to America.

Don't get me wrong here guys.. Salthill is a fantastic airshow, its one of the highlights of my year!! I wasn't dissin it or anything !! !!

Actually that B-1B was on its way back to the US from an airshow in Portugal - it didn't make the trip just for Salthill.

Nop,

 he was on an airshow / tigermeet in Beja Portugal.
He flew a " local " mission and did do some a-a- refueling before goin' back to Beja for the week.

It has struck me before that the seafront in Bray is an ideal vantage point for an air display. It has also struck me that the 800ft high Bray Head at the south end of the prospective flight line is a bit of an issue! Have the organisers mentioned this to the participants?
