Concorde over Farranfore
« on: March 13, 2005, 09:44:48 pm »
Hi Guys,

I was sent an email over the weekend about pictures of an Air France Concorde doing a flypast at Farranfore airport:

Quote
Dear Sir,
I would be interested in finding out if there are any pictures out there of the time that an Air France Concorde did a flyover at Farranfore Airport( now Kerry International) over twenty years ago. It was part of an airshow there that weekend.Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated,
Best Wishes,

Can anyone help out with this request for info & pictures?

Regards,

Frank.

Frank,
I do not recall that, but I will make some enquiries. I do remember that over a number of years while walking  in the  West Cork and Kerry Mountains (looking for WW2 crash sites) hearing the twin Boom as Concorde passed the South Coast at 2PM you could set your clock by it.This was I believe the British Airways London to New York flight.

Hi Frank,
Dont have any photos but it was August 1984 when a Air France Concorde was on route to Shannon for a 5 week training detail and it did a high speed and low speed pass.

I will see if i can dig anything out!!
