Hey!
Quote
I received an e-mail reply to acknowledge that they received my application and they're reviewing it or something..
So should I be worried then? I asked a friend to drop my application form in for me, the Monday before closing, the 27th I think. He's a Sgt based in DFHQ and he said he handed into the competitions section personnally but I just wondering if I should have received a letter or a phone call saying something similiar to
aerodaves
? Should I start worrying now or?
Many Thanks!
Best of luck to everyone who has applied. Good luck to you all!

Hello all,
I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and im going to graduate from school at the end of May. So i think 2 or 3 months ago i sent an online application just to see if i would get a reply. I dont have good grades in Math and Physic so i wanst expecting a reply. In the application i left the grades empty. So a month later i get a reply asking me to state the subjects i have taken, so i did that. Then i got an email telling to further my application and fly over and do the fitness test. i wanst able to go because it was a week before the fitness test. So someone called me up and told me i have to fly over to Ireland on the 4th of May for an Interview and then fly over again at the end of May or first week Of June for the fitness test. Which im going to do. I got another email asking me to send a paper that states that the high school diploma i will get here is equivilent to the one in Ireland. Im doing American system.
So Anyone think i stand a chance?
Regards

Educational Requirements
(3) Candidates whose first language is not English will be required to provide proof of fluency in the English language, which equates to a score of 570 in The Test of English in a Foreign Language(TOEFL).
Good to see our government's attitude to the Irish language has extended to the Defence Forces, as last time I checked, Gaeilge was not a foreign language.
Onto a less political issue, I'm strongly considering applying for the air corps cadetships, but as asked in a previous post, is it reccommended that you have a third level degree before applying or would you stand just as much a chance with just a Leaving Cert?
