Hi.All.
Watched the parade on tv..it was a great show! Well Done to everyone involved! It must have been a logistical nightmare and thank God it went so well.It was great to see the Air Corps do us proud again.
In the FCA years ago,I marched in a few Easter parades and did Presidential GOHs for Dev on Patricks day.Its great to see the parade back, hopefully as an annual event. The public should be allowed to show pride in their military at least once a year!!!
Amazing to see the dear old Al III s still going strong!what a shame the Dauphin and Gazelle could'nt have been flown on the day as a fitting swansong.
Again,congratulations on a great event.
(Lovely shots Frank!)  'applause'  'applause'

Hi Guys,

Here's my attempt at the Flypast pictures, didn't help that I was taking pictures into the sun and the fact that I broke my best lens 'pilot_cry'

Some of the pictures look a bit ropey due to the fact they are portrait and the resize software didn't do a good job resizing.  The full size versions are available here:

Hi all,
Frank, great shots.Even your "bad" shots are first-class.The Cessna formation drew the most whinges on irishmilitaryonline because of the noise-versus-speed effect. The parade was excellent and a brilliant showcase for the entire PDF, even if the PT instructors looked like a bunch of howyas bringing up the rear!
regards

Very nice pics, Frank, it must have been nightmare shooting flying machines in urban area  'thumbsup'

But off topic now: I liked very much UN veterans proudly marching on the top of parade, it just poped into my mind, how nice it'd be to see "our" WWII heroes up the front in some similair big ceremony, when some of them are still alive...

Anyway it was great sunday  'applause'

With that in mind i did think it was a sign of how far we have come, to see the British Military attache on the reviewing stand, On O'Connell st, at the easter commemoration, saluting while the Irish national anthem was being played. With the Somme Commemorations later in the year, I don't think we are far away from the British Legion in Ireland being allowed participate. After all the wreath was to commemorate all those who died in 1916.

It would be a true sign of the maturity of the state if the regiment that is the descendant of the Foresters or the Lancers, were allowed participate in the 100th anniversary.
