Hi Guinness,

I've asked some of the PC-9 crews about foreign visits this year, and not just about Leeuwarden, and they can't say yes or no to any visits yet, it's basically a case of wait and see.

It all depends on flying training schedules and availability.  I don't know about the rest of the Air Corps fleet yet but I would say it will also be a case of wait and see.

Regards,

Frank.

Hi Frank

Given that the Alouettes are expected to be retired this year any insight into why they aren't touring the Irish shows? Seems a bit strange that it's only those "foreign types" who are getting a goodbye visit!

Hi 145,

I can't see the Air Corps not attending an Irish air show without an Alouette III this year, just because the aircraft is not confirmed yet doesn't mean it won't turn up.

I'll put it to you this way, if an Alouette doesn't turn up at Salthill or Punchestown I'll be very surprised.

Frank.

Will someone please tell the PC-9 jocks to do a few fast flypast's at airshows!  ......to let people see what the PC-9's are really capable of!!

They do such flypasts when training over my house every other day ....so why not at an airshow?!

Agreed,

at Salthill they were, well, for want of a better word...tame. The formation flying was skillful and all the rest but think of what a couple of PC-9s roaring low (ish) past the crowd would do for the image of the AC.

Uh, Bogey airspeed not sufficient for interception. Suggest we get out and walk...
