CASA's to go ?

Is'nt there a crowd from Canada that specialise in this area aswell, they use a King Air and im nearly sure that they provided training for the Air Corp crews when the IAC purchased the Casa'a.

Well, some of their duties anyway.

There are some details over on irishmilitaryonline about a new dept of marine tender for what seems to be fixed wing surveillance plane(s). Their duties are to be pollution control and top cover for Coast Guard search and rescue missions.

As we know, these duties are currently performed by Air Corps CASA aircraft.

Havnt heard anytin about it, altough I do know that the systems onboard the casa's are out of date and are due(?) to be replaced!

Apparently, Air Atlantique perform such a (pollution control) service in the UK.

I suppose it will free up the CASA's for other missions.
Although will it just be a matter of time before the Dept of Marine take over fisheries protection also ?

Perhaps this Smithy's masterplan to free up more AC time for military-only roles ?!
