What's this?!
« on: December 08, 2003, 01:48:14 pm »
A two ship Dauphin formation has just passed over my house and landed in Carrickfinn.
I never thought I'd see the day when I'd see more than one dauphin in the air together this far north!
Wonderful to see,and tight flying as well.Any idea's if there is any special reason behind this btw??
Come to think of it I've seen more of the Dauphin up here than I have of the S-61 since it took over!

Lude,

Please tell us you had a camera!?!

Doesn't the Dauphin have to cover if the S-61 is U/S??

2 is unusual though.

Does anyone know what's happening with the S-61? Does it still fly in the non-SAR roles?

Hi Guys,

I've just been sent some pictures of the two Dauphin's in Donegal courtesy of Dave O'Toole, they were taken at Fanad Lighthouse.  Unfortunately none of the pictures are air to air but they are very nice all the same.

I'll add the full size pictures to the website as soon as I get a chance.

Regards,

Frank.

Nice pics Frank.
Great to see the two Dauphins but -
Aren't things bad when it's unusual to see 2 x Air Corps helis in action ?!    '<img'>

I think they were carrying-out troop training drills with the Army in the Finner Camp/Fort Dun Rí area before their deployment to Liberia.

Hmmm. "Their" deployment to Liberia. Interesting use of deliberate mis-information... so the Dauphins are going to Liberia? Cool! Look out for the RPG's!
