Filip,
Any chance that you could post a scan of the Anson 22 in Irish colours so that we could have a look at it?

The new RVHP kits of the Super King Air are getting good reviews and may be of interest to modellers of Irish Air Corps aircraft:

That "What If " is mine. I started building the kit about a year ago, but a number of family bereavements etc in the interm took me away from it.
Finally finished it off a few weeks ago.
My only regret is the placement og the shamrocks, donated from an old AerLingus sheet I had. I think I should have had them further back along the air-intake...
But otherwise very pleased with the outcome.
( she has a belly cannon, by the way)

Since there had been a lot of talk at the time of the then upcoming purchase of the PC-9's and how some figured we;d be better with some small fast jets....well, I had just bought he Airfix  1/48 Hawk kit and a light bulb went off....
Might try it on an F-16 next! '<img'>

Thanks for the kind words
Liam

Heller has "new" kit of Eurocopter AS 350 B. This is the only kit of this helicopter and I wonder, is there any big difference between 350 and 355 used by GASU? Eg. different engines, some obvious structural chnges etc...
Thinking of getting one while still available

Hi Filip,
Two Heller kits are available.
AS 350B3 'Everest' (Kit number 80488) (the kit you mention) and also kit no 80485 Ecureuil 'Bombardier d'eau' which has an addition of a 'water bombing' tank. Both kits look the same otherwise.I think both with the appropriate conversion will make up to a nice 355.I have a number of close up photos taken of Garda AS355 255 at Salthill Airshow which may help with your modelling of this aircraft.Feel free to email me and I will arrange to send them on to you.

Surely the 350 is a single engine while the 355 is twin?

It depends on which Mark of the PC7 is on offer. If it is the PC7 MK1 then no there is a huge difference between it and the PC9.

However if the model is of the PC7 Mk2 then the model will be identical to the PC9 as the PC7 Mk2 and PC9M have virtually identical airframes in appearance. The only possible difference would be in the size of the fairing between fuselage and rudder and in the different cockpit layouts (instrumentation).

Hi Sealion,
As you mention the 350 is indeed a single engined machine and am still trying to figure out(through the use of photos) how I will manage the conversion.I imagine quite a bit of sawing and filler will be needed in the conversion to represent the Garda aircraft.Hopefully the result will look something like the real thing !

Just noticed a great new selection of IAC Decals being announced by Max Decals (Max4814) to cover Avro Ansons,DH 9 and extremely useful wing stripes.Delighted to see that the IAC EC135 is also included in both 1/72 and 1/32 scale.Let the heli kit building begin !!!!!!!!
