The new government jet (they had decided on the Airbus!) has been cancelled again!!!! But they will be taking delivery of a learjet 45 soon to augment the GIV! Its all a big joke out here at this stage and nobody gives a s@~t anymore!

Just to update yis on a bit of scandel!!
Seen a document drawn off the net yesterday that says how 220 lear 45's have been grounded because of tailplane problems.(ie:The variable incidence horizontal stabilizers, like the system on the GIV!)
In one incident a pilot lost control of the A/C but luckily gained control again before crashing!!
As you can see, the government strikes again when it comes to researching the development and history of their buys, which by the way leads me to another point!
The HUD for the new PC-9'S is NOT recomended by Pilatus but the Irish as usual didnt listen and are having them fitted anyway!!
Avionics are goin to havr great fun when the A/C go U/S every other day!!

I can understand that your nickname "P.Doff" is how most guys out there must feel at this stage !

Fat lot of good a small jet will be for twin-engine training  '<img'>
The CASA's will spend more time on training duties when the King Air goes.

Ah well, once Bertie and his bunch are comfy, who cares about maritime patrols anyway !!!
 ''

At least they can train pilots for the lear with the basic Microsoft Flightsimulator on the pc.. '<img'>
The lear is a total waste though, but would I be right in thinking they have not ruled out leasing something?

i would disagree that the lear is a waste as it has the range to get around europe and it will be alot cheaper to run than the GIV. its a good choice as an intem replacement until something is actually bought
you're not lost until you're lost at mach 3

The Lear is a welcome addition to the fleet and the retirement of the SKA200 will not be for years. '<img'> The next contract up will be the light utility helicopter

It has been stated that the plan is to sell (or "trade in") the King Air when the new small jet arrives.

Just to update yis on the situation!
The government will be leasing a lear 45 from October till Christmas when we'll take delivery of our own!
Dont know where their gonna put it though cos its gettin pretty packed out here especially since were not gettin rid of the stuff thats out of date! (ie , the timed out Dauphins, the old fougas, etc etc!!). And when the pc-9's arrive, ........????

Hey P.Dof, how are the Dauphins timed out? Can't they afford to get them o/h'd? or don't they have the inclination?
