As I understood it the problem was airframe hours, Israel is selling off its C.90s, but really a new C.200 or a Saab 340 inplace of the Learjet would be more sensible purchases especially a dual role Saab.

THe PC-21 is a single engined t-prop, as are the planned cessna replacements which will have enough on their plate w-out pilot training.
Its also a very small aircraft, a 340 would seat up t0 thirty passengers in relative comfort and have similar endurance to the Casas making it more useful for both MATS, and air ambulance.

Imshi,
from what I have read/heard, the Defender (or Islander) is also an option to replace the Cessnas.

I believe the Cessna Caravan is the hot favourite at present.
If this is chosen, the question is -
What aircraft will be used for multi-engined training ?

Interesting to note that the Price Waterhouse Report recommended that a CASA 235 should replace the King Air !

In what condition is the King Air ?

Is it fit enough for, say, another 5 years service in the twin-engined trainer role ?

If not the CASA's will be spending a lot more time on training duties and less time on maritime patrols !

Silver,
A few minor repairs  and the Super King Air will be back to full throttle and be serving our nation for many years to come.
