Hi all

This is everybody's last chance to get photo's of a running SF260. For the past two days and the rest of this week FTS and ARF techs have been ground running 231 before it is stored forever (or so we are told). The purr of the Lycoming and the exhaust smells brings back loads of memories to all of us.

May have to change my name to RSA-5AD1 now.

Saw that. Day glo tips caught my eye recently and caused me to pause mid sentance and do a double take. Nice to see the old bird out again.

JK my posterior is not page 3 material at this stage but if you really need to see.........

Frank, brought in the digital camera as the final runs to inhibit are supposed to be today. Will confirm that later.

Notice on the prop (today)states that the engine is inhibited. The aircraft looks in pristine condition a tribute to the tech crew. Vampire 191 is still being worked on and I have no doubt that it too will be looking great when completed .First class additions to the museum.

The Claudel Hobson was the carburettor fitted to the Chipmunk and the Bendix RSA-5AD1 was the model of fuel injection throttle body/pump fitted to the Marchetti.

Are you saying Claudel is not his real name?

I thought he was of hiberno/spanish extraction.

Thats it I'll never believe another word I see on the web.

Orion, Claudel does have the look of a Mexican Border Guard about him (the droopy moustache, the 3-day stubble, the belly held up by a sagging trouser belt,etc,etc) and he does speak a fom of English, so I guess you were half-right... 'pilot_grin'

You're all so kind!!

Can't remember if I taught you in ACAS GTTC. Worked on both Claudel Hopson AI48PM and Bendix RSA-5AD1 when they were flying in BFTS as you did in ERF. Don't recall the carb on Provost and lucky for us now the PT6A-62 doesn't have primitive carbs or injectors to squirt the juice for us. Its just a glorified Bunson Burner.
