Three good articles in February's An Cosantoir about the new helis, plus a picture fold out in the Connect newsletter of the helis.

Some very interesting comments in the magazine ,they hope to have eventually, finance permitting ,4 EC135's and 8 AW 139's and there is also a hope that the heavy lift option will be looked at again, the EH101 was mentioned in particular.

I remember the Merlin put in a good show in Salthill last year, they were really showing her off. I'm sure that didn't pass the notice of the AC.

Hope it didn't bypass the A/C command on salthill, it looked very impressive.

Although, should the A/C be wanting to buy heavy lift heli's i'd say they would look more towards the NH90, just because the heli isn't English. It is a stupid reason but so be it.

It would be cool though to see a pair of green Merlins with a GPMG in the door and a roundel on it's side.

Let's just wait and see.

BTW. Where can i get my hands on this article? I looked in Easons but no luck.

cheers.  ''

I was in Easons on O'Connell St in Dublin on Friday evening, and they still had a few copies of the February An Cosantoir. You could try calling and asking them to hold on to a copy, or give An Cosantoir a ring for a back issue.
