By the way. Does anyone have the font that was used for the Fouga serials?

Do you mean stencils or do you mean the size/dimensions of the serials?

Hi Tony,
I mean the font used for the "219" serial. I've tried all fonts on my computer, but none match.

It was quite easy to have an accident on "Herbie"(LSS towcar!). I remember someone(I swear it wasnt me, Ahem!!) ready to reverse up to 220 after towing 217 out onto a rainy ramp when my..doh..I mean their wet foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator and took out the light in the nose!!! Thanks to a quick acting NCO I/C 220 (Cheers D.R) it was back on the ramp with shiny new nose before the drivers we're finished cofee!!!

The only ones who used those tanks were the French I think. They were not metal but composite material if I remember correctly. My head says they were G limited but I could be mistaken.

We had them aswell! I should have said has anyone seen "Our Fougas" with them. I remember them stacked in the corner of the hanger. They were composite alrite,un-painted and looked like two big canoes glued together. I must have a root around for them and take a pic and post it!

hi there
They were used, alright. Some were used on Ferry flights when the Fougas were going to France for major overhaul. They were also used after the "Monkey" Kennedy rattled the normal tip tanks on "Herbie". I well remember the inability of said tug to cope with a wet ramp uphill from Fouga. They had to be pressure-tested before first filling. They held about half as much again as the normal tip tank.

Yep,

we saw that the other day as well there Clog.

Code is 3-KE and is said to be the "missing" IAC code 221.
It never had the IAC serial nor roundel but only used as instructional airframe

Correct me if I'm wrong there Tony 'pilot_wink'
