P Doff- You should try and tell some of the Lads at the Don to try and get a show made on the Irish Air Corps. It would be great for the whole Aircorps and show the people the work they do ever year all over Ireland.-well just an idea. '<img'>

can any one tell me about any TV Shows made on the Irish Aircorps?  The Irish Aircorps has certainly a great history, it would be great if some one made a show on the day to day rescues made by them every year.

RTE's "Nationwide" programme had a Defence Force special a few years back (c.1999), which had excellent footage of Army training, Naval Gunnery and some Air Corps footage. It was a half hour show. (I have it on video, watched it a few times by now)

Prime Time also did a two part show on the Defence Forces c.1999.

TG4 also had a special on Air Sea rescues which had footage of the Dauphins in action. (c.1999)
Actually they did a special "as gaeilge" on the Dauphin at Finner Air Station as well.

TG4 make better programmes than RTE most of the time.

damn right silver!!I think I saw that one on TG4 alright,Nationwide is pretty good to the defence forces now that you mention it.The last day the show was being presented from the Don and there was a piece on the Bremen memorial flight as well. There aren't as many programmes as there should be though!
Off the topic a bit but does anyone remember that BBC series a few years back,"Flying Soldiers"?It followed British Army helicopter pilot trainees up to the day that they got their wings,it was pretty good, you wouldn't see RTÉ doing one on the Cadets!
