1 an early visitor HP42 G-AAXF July 1932
2 US aircraft at Shannon is not exactly new C47 41-7764 6 July 1942 ( I know it is not Baldonnel)
3 Aer Lingus Dakotas diverted to Baldonnel due to fog 1950's. Aer Lingus were friends then.
4 Luftwaffe Tornado August 1988 It carries the winged sword of the WW2 unit KG27 on the tail.

Hey Tony. Surprised you're not in getting photos of the Luftwaffe HH53 knocking around gere the past two days. Impressive machine

Just made it as it was leaving even though I told Mick W to instruct them not to leave until I got there, but sure, they ignored us! :banghead:
Did you notice it had about as much smoke as a Boeing 707!

Tongue firmly in cheek remark! goes back to when a Miles Magister, Seafire, Anson and Avro XIX had reason to make emergency landings at Dublin AP ( all at different times of course) but were told to get off the runways fast, holding up money making ops. etc :stirthepot:

Yeah we were up other end of ramp running a PC9 as it went passed. Big machine. Not long back from Afghanistan, soon going for a mid-life O/Haul and upgrade which German crew said will keep it in service till the 2030's. The also said its only problem out there was RPG's

We watched it fly away and the twin smoke trails were visible for most of its flight out.
