DC-8 at EIME - 24th July, 2008
« on: July 24, 2008, 06:50:18 pm »
Driving home from work this evening a DC-8 flew over me at Barberstown en-route to landing at EIME. Looked like a 50 or 60 series, possibly Africa International...... Any info?

Hi Stanley,

Yep, it was a -62, an ex Alitalia machine, built 1970, with JT-3D coal burning engines, lots of black smoke ! Started the day being disappointed the Mexican Navy Landing Ship arrived at the port without a copter but a DC-8 landing at the Don brought a smile to my face.  :buttrock:

Did she come in during the afternoon?

I was sitting out the back and rudely interrupted by a 4 engined jet flying very low - I was actually going to ask about it here as it appeared to be on its way to Bal
