I Heard about  this event being advertised on the airwaves  and thought this was worthy of publication.
Ok I know they don’t whizzz by at 300+ Knots but its an aviation subject

The 39th Irish Hot Air Ballooning Championship
Better known as The Irish Meet - the event will take place in Waterford again this year.

Sunday 20th September to Friday 25th September

Meet Director Joe Daly says, "The skies of Waterford will again see the magical sight of up to 40 balloons floating in the air in late September.   Following a hugely successful event last year Hot Air Balloons from all over the world will arrive in the city to fly from 20th to the 25th of September next.   It is expected that a number of flights will take place from the Peoples Park and, weather permitting, the fabulous spectacle of the night glow on the Quays will be repeated."
